Meet Levi, Lifeline Macarthur and Western Sydney’s latest team member.
Levi, a Cavoodle (a hybrid of a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel and a miniature Poodle) was born in June and came to Lifeline in August.
He is in the process of applying to be a Mental Health Assistance Dog but is already on the job at Lifeline Macarthur and Western Sydney, coming to work with Projects Leader Lisa De La Mare every day, bringing lots of smiles and laughter to the staff.
Once his application is approved, Levi will start his 12-months training.
First, he'll get started on the basics at puppy preschool.
Assistance Dogs can be used to alleviate a number of disorders -- anxiety disorders, depression and other mood disorders, PTSD, behavioral disorders and many more.
In the future Levi will visit Lifeline's different groups, including bereavement and Eclipse, and perhaps take some trips in the Outreach van.
At the moment his favourite activities are cuddling and chewing
