Mental Health First Aid

Service Description

The course discusses mental health issues such as depression, anxiety disorders, psychosis, deliberate self-harm and substance use disorders as well as some of the potential crises that may arise including suicide ideation, panic attacks, severe psychotic states and intoxication. Participants will benefit from improved knowledge of mental illness and their treatments, knowledge of appropriate first aid strategies and confidence in providing first aid to individuals with mental illness.
